Hours after British Prime Minister Keir Starmer resigned from his position as the leader of the ruling Labour Party, Andy Burnham, who is a newly sworn-in member of parliament for Makerfield, has confirmed he will stand to replace him. Former Health Secretary Wes Streeting says he'll back Burnham's bid to become Labour leader and prime minister. Streeting - who quit Starmer's government last month - had previously said he would stand in any leadership race.
