    Kenya Railways has defended the demolition of businesses associated with Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi saying a vacate notice had been issued before hand.In a statement, the Kenya Railways said the section of located along the Douglas Wakiihuri Road will be rehabilitated and converted into a train station ahead of the African Cup of Nations in 2027. Bulldozers descended on the property last night, flattering the area and destroying everything on their path. Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi who visited the property later in the day defended his stay on the property, saying he is the legal occupant having secured the land off a long-term lease.
