BUSIA LEADERS INTENSIFY CAMPAIGN AGAINST SURGING GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE CASES

Busia women's representative Catherine Omanyo and Teso South MP Mary Emase have intensified campaigns against the rising cases of GBV, which have taken the county by storm. Omanyo, while speaking at Kapina village, urged couples to seek alternative solutions or divorce as opposed to resorting to violence. The sentiment was echoed by Mary Emase, who spoke at Kwangamo, citing two incidents where two women victims of violence are nursing injuries even as their cases remain pending in the court.
