Sugarcane farmers are counting losses as mature cane rot on farms following closure of all sugar milling companies. Cane farmers drawn from Kericho, Kisumu and Nandi counties have now issued a three-day ultimatum to the agriculture and food authority to rescind the closure of sugar milling in Nyanza and Western regions, failure to which they’ll storm the authorities’ offices.
