CBK cuts base rate for 10th consecutive time, borrowers get reprieve

    The latest monetary policy committee meeting of the central bank resolution to cut the base lending rate by 25 basis points marks the 10th consecutive rate cut in the country, bringing the base lending rate 8.75 percent down from 9 percent set in December 2025. A move that the central bank governor dr. Kamau Thugge says it should be translated to borrowers immediately.
