Speaking during a sensitization forum at the Bandari Maritime Academy in Mombasa, Immigration Principal Secretary Dr Julius Kipsang said grassroots administrators are best placed to identify citizens and will now bear individual responsibility for safeguarding the integrity of identity documents through biometric verification.
He said similar forums have been held in six counties, with the Coast region nearing completion after engagements in Kwale, Kilifi and Taita Taveta. The exercise will proceed to Tana River and conclude in Lamu.
