Civil servants threaten strike over pay circular

Civil servants could soon down their tools over a disputed government salary circular. While addressing the press today in Nairobi, the Union of Kenya Civil Servants rejected the SRC salary circular issued on July 17, saying it was released without its consent and before negotiations for the 2025–2029 Collective Bargaining Agreement were concluded. The union is demanding the circular's withdrawal, warning that it will seek legal action and issue a strike notice if the government fails to resolve the dispute.
