The government is set to roll out climate smart technologies in order to cover the 28% water access deficit at the national level
Speaking at the launch of the Village Drill hybrid machine in Kisumu, water sector trust fund representative Nicodemus Omwanza indicated that the move was informed by the need to implement water access and connectivity to use it as an economic catalyst among rural communities. The Kisumu county government reiterated its commitment to also enhance the sanitation network by enlisting a new company to roll out the sanitation network in Muhoroni, Seme and Nyakach sub counties. The village drill technology has so far been applied in 40 countries, and uses electricity for drilling as opposed to fuel powered generators
