COMESA at 30 | Kenya takes the helm as host of the 24th Summit

Established in December of 1994, COMESA, the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa has been around for over 30 years. It was formed to replace the Preferential Trade Area which existed from 1981. As Kenya hosts the 24th COMESA Summit and meetings from Monday and prepares to take over the Chairmanship of the COMESA Authority from Burundi at the Summit of Heads of State & Government on Thursday, let's reaquaint ourselves with its mission and role.
