The family of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has today handed over the site for the construction of the Raila Odinga mausoleum in Siaya, beginning the first step in preserving Odinga's legacy. Speaking at the site located at Kango ka Jaramogi, Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga said that the facility will serve as a cornerstone in commemorating Kenya's fight for democracy, where generations will receive teachings on how the late Odinga charted the political course locally and across the globe. The construction of the 30 million shillings mausoleum will be undertaken by the Kenya Defence Forces, alongside the National Museums of Kenya, and will be completed by the end of September.
