The Cooperative movement in Kenya is calling for peaceful coexistence and unity as the country prepares for the next general election, emphasizing that peace and sustainable development remain the foundation of cooperative business growth.
Speaking ahead of the upcoming Ushirika Day celebrations at Uhuru Park, Nairobi, the Chief Executive Officer of the Cooperative Alliance of Kenya (CAK), Daniel Marube, said cooperatives play a key role in promoting economic resilience, financial inclusion, and social stability.
Marube urged cooperative members to act as ambassadors of peace, warning against political divisions that could disrupt economic activities and livelihoods. He stressed that cooperatives thrive in stable environments where trust, good governance, and accountability are upheld.
