The Central Organisation of Trade Unions, Cotu, has joined trade unions from across Africa in launching a project to promote the equitable implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area, AfCFTA.
Speaking at the Boulevard Hotel in Nairobi, the unions called for decent work, stronger worker participation and safer conditions for cross-border traders.
They are also pushing for simplified trade procedures, stronger social protection and improved border infrastructure to ensure AfCFTA delivers decent jobs and safer livelihoods.
