The country with the world's highest suicide rate I BBC Africa
The small African nation of Lesotho is nicknamed the Kingdom of the Sky. But it’s also home to a darker reputation, as the country with the highest suicide rate in the world. That’s according to the World Health Organisation, which says the nation’s suicide rate is nearly ten times the global average. The BBC’s Andre Lombard has travelled to Leribe district, in the country’s north, to meet those tackling the crisis, and to discover some of the reasons behind it.
