Senior Principal Magistrate Victor Wakumile, has allowed the withdrawal of charges against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and nine others. While delivering his ruling, the magistrate warned the previously accused persons, that they can still be rearrested should facts of the case change. Gachagua was facing multiple counts of corruption and economic crimes related charges, totalling to over 7 billion shillings. Nyeri senator Wahome Wamatinga, who was one of the co-accused persons, welcomed the court decision
