The government is stepping up efforts to prevent climate-related diseases through new strategies on climate change and air pollution. Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale says the Kenya Climate Change and Health Strategy (2024–2029) and the Household Air Pollution Prevention Strategy (2024–2029), aim to improve preparedness, reduce emissions, and build community resilience. He was speaking at the opening of the Pan-African Conference on Environment, Climate Change and Health in Nairobi. More than 500 delegates from across Africa attended the four-day conference, which ended with the adoption of the Nairobi Living Declaration, reaffirming the Africa’s commitment to a coordinated climate, health agenda.
