Water and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary, Eric Mugaa, says the country has made significant progress in water sector reforms through successive legislative frameworks, including the Water Act 2016 and the Water Resources Regulations 2025. Speaking during a high-level roundtable dialogue on Basin Water Resources in Nairobi, the CS emphasised the need for stronger water governance institutions, increased investment and collaboration amongst stakeholders to address the country's water challenges.
