Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba has announced that the government will review and lower fees in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions in a move aimed at easing the financial burden on students and reducing dropout rates.
Speaking on Tuesday during the commissioning of a new multi-storey academic block at Kenya Coast National Polytechnic, Ogamba said he had engaged trainees who cited high fees as one of their main challenges. In response, he revealed that a team has already been constituted to begin an immediate review of the fee structure, with a meeting scheduled to address the concerns.
