The court has now ordered the ethics and anti-corruption commission to return sh. 2m that was taken during a raid at former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya’s house. Chief Magistrate Thomas Nzyuki says the said money was not an exhibit before the court hence the need to give it back. EACC has however objected to the release of the sh.2m saying they do not know how it was acquired. Oparanya’s lawyer Osiemo says the officers went against the directive by the court and took money that was meant for Oparanya’s children’s school fees.
