Residents living in flood-prone areas of Baringo South, as well as communities settled along the shores of Lake Baringo and Lake Bogoria, are raising concerns over what they describe as inadequate preparedness by the Baringo County Government ahead of the expected El Nino rains. The residents fear that heavy rains could trigger widespread flooding, displacement and destruction of property, particularly in areas that have historically experienced severe flooding whenever rainfall increases in the upstream sections of the county.
