Environmentalists are calling on the relevant policy making bodies to prioritize biodiversity conservation which is the backbone of the country’s economy. The call comes amid push for countries to implement the 2022 Kunming Montreal global biodiversity framework which aims to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030.This even as countries gear up for 2024 UN Biodiversity Conference COP16 to be held in Colombia this year.
