FIRE RAVAGES MERU PRISON QUARTERS
A fire has gutted prison officers’ residential quarters at the Meru Government of Kenya Prison, leaving at least 14 families homeless. The blaze broke out at around 11pm last night and quickly spread through the timber structures, reducing them to ashes. No injuries were reported but all household items belonging to the affected prison officers were destroyed.
