FKF president calls for political solution to league dispute

Football Kenya Federation President Hussein Mohammed has called for a political solution to the legal challenges facing the Kenya Premier League. Hussein says the ongoing legal process could further delay the league, as Kariobangi Sharks and Mombasa United both claim a place in the 2026/27 season. Two separate courts have issued conflicting directives, with one ordering the league to be played under the 2019 FKF rules, while another directed the inclusion of Mombasa United in the league. Mombasa United finished third in the National Super League. Under the 2019 rules, they would face the team that finished third from bottom in the KPL, which in this case is Kariobangi Sharks, for a place in the Premier League.
