At least four people have been killed in Cameroon’s economic capital, Douala, following violent clashes between police and opposition supporters ahead of the official announcement of presidential election results. The violence broke out on Sunday, October 26, 2025, after hundreds of supporters of opposition candidate Issa Tchiroma defied a protest ban to demonstrate against what they alleged was a rigged election in favour of long-serving President Paul Biya.
