Residents of Chaani Ward in Changamwe Constituency, Mombasa, have raised concerns over rising cases of land injustices, prolonged court battles, gender-based violence, and delayed access to justice during a free legal aid outreach programme.
Speaking during the clinic, Advocate Fatma Barayan said the initiative was organized in response to increasing legal challenges affecting low-income residents, particularly land disputes, workplace rights violations, and gender-based violence cases. She noted that many residents continue to lose property due to lack of legal knowledge and inability to afford legal representation, with over 200 people receiving assistance during the outreach.
