With no resources or trained staff, Dr. Dixon Chibanda, one of a handful of psychiatrists in Zimbabwe, and Professor of Global Mental Health at Kings College London, aims to help solve the country’s mental health crisis.
A group of grandmothers are trained in behavioural therapy and sit on wooden benches counselling community members on common mental disorders such as anxiety and depression.
