Fuel shortage bites as stations run dry despite government assurances

The onset of what appears to be a biting fuel shortage across the country has Kenyans raising the alarm, with a considerable number of petrol stations deserted due to lack of fuel. Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi’s assurances that the problem is administrative and technical, and will be resolved today, have done little to calm frayed nerves. Various fuel stations remain shut until they can restock fuel. Stephen Leto kicks off the bulletin with a report on what appears to be a crisis in the making.
