Meja Jenerali Peter Cirimwami ambaye pia ni Gavana wa jimbo la Kivu Kaskazini huko Jamhuri ya Kidemokrasia ya Congo siku ya Alhamisi ametembelea maeneo ambayo yanashambuliwa na waasi wa M23. Pia alifanya tathmini kwenye maeneo ya makazi ya raia yenye idadi kubwa ya watu.
Makazi hayo yako mjini karibu na mji wa Goma na eneo la Sake kiasi cha kilometa 25 magharibi mwa Goma.
Gavana Cirimwani alifuatana na Kamati ya Usalama ya jimbo la Kivu Kaskazini. Meja Jenerali Cirimwami baadaye alitembelea kambi mbalimbali za wakimbizi zilizopo maeneo ambapo yanaendelea kukumbwa na mapigano.
