Google expands AI training drive for young Kenyans

Google is expanding its artificial intelligence training drive in Kenya, targeting university students, media professionals and content creators as businesses increasingly adopt AI to improve productivity. Through its Tutunge na Gemini workshop, Google will train young Kenyans to use generative AI for research, writing, editing, content planning and visual production. The initiative is part of the company’s wider push to make AI tools more accessible, particularly to young people preparing to enter the job market. Eligible university students in Kenya will also receive access to Gemini and additional cloud storage to support their studies and creative work. Google says lowering the cost of accessing such tools could help bridge the technology gap between learners in different institutions, at a time when the ability to use AI is becoming an increasingly important skill in the workplace.
