The government is seeking partnerships with the Private Sector for a 10-year plan initiative designed to transform the irrigation sector
The initiative aims to move from 22% to 50% irrigation potential by fostering collaborations with private investors, development partners, and local communities.
Currently, the government is in the process of scaling up Farmer-Led Irrigation Development (FLID) to boost agriculture and empower smallholder farmers to adopt, invest in, and manage their own irrigation technologies.
Supported by the World Bank and the government, the initiative seeks to also provide affordable, low-cost solutions such as solar pumps and drip kits to farmers.
