In a bizarre twist to the shocking discovery of mass graves in Shakahola, the government today blocked the media from the scene and announced contradicting figures on the ongoing exhumation of bodies. The government says five bodies were exhumed today, but graveside sources indicate that 8 bodies, all children, were exhumed. The conflicting figures which would take the death toll to 95 on the government count and 98 by the count of reliable graveside sources. The government ban was also imposed on human rights personnel who were denied access after Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki declared the area a scene of crime and imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew
