The government has distributed more than 800,000 sanitary pads to school-going girls in Siaya County under the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (National Government Affirmative Action Fund), in a major initiative aimed at supporting menstrual hygiene and improving school attendance.
According to Nancy Okademi, Siaya County NGAAF coordinator, a total of 815,614 sanitary pads will benefit over 85,000 girls in public primary and junior secondary schools across all sub-counties, including Gem Yala and Gem Wagai, where the launch took place.
