The government has pledged to tackle teacher shortages, inadequate school infrastructure, delayed capitation and rising student unrest using the record Sh784.5 billion allocated to the education sector in the 2026/2027 financial year.
Speaking at the 49th Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA) Annual Conference in Mombasa, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba said the funding will strengthen the implementation of Competency-Based Education (CBE), support the recruitment of more teachers, improve school infrastructure and enhance learning conditions across the country.
