The government has stepped up nationwide consultations on the proposed ratification of two key international labour conventions aimed at strengthening worker protection and promoting decent work in Kenya. The proposed ratification of International Labour Organization Conventions 189 on Decent Work for Domestic Workers and 190 on Violence and Harassment in the World of Work is expected to significantly reform Kenya’s labour governance framework, particularly within the informal sector.
