GOVERNMENT STOCKPILES 400,000 BAGS OF MAIZE TO STRENGTHEN KENYA’S STRATEGIC FOOD RESERVES

The Government has procured nearly 400,000 bags of maize, each weighing 90 kilogrammes, as part of efforts to strengthen Kenya’s strategic food reserves and cushion citizens against possible food shortages. Agriculture Principal Secretary Dr Paul Kipronoh Ronoh said the maize has been stored at various National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) depots as the Government prepares for possible disruptions to food production caused by changing weather patterns.
