GOVERNMENT URGED TO CONSTRUCT ECD CENTRES NEAR COMMUNITIES IN KURIA TO MOTIVATE YOUNG LEARNERS

Residents of Bungutwi community in Kuria West Sub-County, Migori County, have urged the national and county governments to establish Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres closer to communities to encourage young learners to attend school. Migori Deputy Governor Dr. Joseph Mahiri said pre-primary children in the area walk between two and four kilometres to Bungutwi Primary School, a journey that could discourage school attendance.
