GOVERNOR CHEBOI URGES GOVERNMENT TO ACT AS LAKES BARINGO AND BOGORIA EDGE TOWARDS MERGER

Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi has appealed to the national government and development partners to urgently intervene and prevent the possible mixing of fresh water Lake Baringo with the saline Lake Bogoria. Speaking at Mukutani Comprehensive School in the newly established Mukutani Sub-county, Governor Cheboi warned that rising water levels in the Great Rift Valley could soon cause the two lakes to merge, threatening aquatic life, tourism, and local livelihoods.
