Governor Mbarire takes over as new UDA party chairperson

In leadership changes made during the party's national executive council meeting, chaired by president William Ruto, Mbarire was appointed to replace Johnson Muthama. Muthama has since been appointed a member of the parliamentary service commission. In the new line up, Cleophas Malala, who unsuccessfully contested for Kakamega gubernatorial seat, has been appointed the party secretary general.
