Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has admitted there are flaws with the four private millers awarded a 30-year lease to operate Nzoia, Chemilil, Sony, and Muhoroni sugar companies. However, he insisted the leasing process will continue, saying it aims to help manage farmers' and workers' debts. Kagwe made the remarks before the National Assembly’s Agriculture Committee amid growing concerns from leaders and residents in Western Kenya.
