Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has welcomed the proposed allocation of Sh428 billion to county governments in the 2026/2027 financial year, while urging the National Treasury of Kenya to ensure timely disbursement of funds to avoid disruptions in service delivery.
Speaking during a graduation ceremony at the Kenya School of Government in Mombasa, where 200 Machakos County staff completed training, the governor noted that the allocation marks an increase from the previous financial year but falls short of the amount requested by counties through the Council of Governors.
