The Ministry of Education has defended the school placement process, saying the system is open, digital and transparent to ensure every learner gets an opportunity to join a school of their choice, subject to available capacity. Education officials say the process is designed to promote fairness and accountability, while minimizing human interference that could disadvantage learners. To further strengthen oversight and service delivery, the Ministry has rolled out a new centralized digital platform the Kenya Education Management Information System (KEMIS) expected to integrate the entire education ecosystem.
