Gov't launches decade-long initiative to restore Mau Forest Complex

    The government has developed a ten-year plan aimed at restoring the Mau Forest Complex. Environment, Climate Change and Forestry Principal Secretary Dr. Festus Ng’eno, says the initiative will transform the nation’s largest water tower into a climate-resilient ecosystem besides creating green job oppourtunities. While in Nakuru, the PS said that the Mau Forest Complex Integrated Conservation and Livelihood Improvement Programme would see 40 million trees planted and seek to curb forest destruction through alternative energy solutions.
