Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir has launched the Mombasa Care healthcare programme at the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital (CGTRH), introducing major reforms aimed at improving patient care, combating corruption, and addressing hospital congestion.
Speaking during the launch, Governor Nassir banned the detention of patients over unpaid bills, ordered the immediate release of all bodies at the hospital mortuary, and introduced a seven-day free storage policy to facilitate timely burials and prevent overcrowding.
