ICJ genocide hearing against Israel ruling HIGHLIGHTS | BBC Africa
Judges at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) have delivered an interim ruling in South Africa's genocide case against Israel, ordering Israel to prevent genocidal acts in Gaza.
Following the ruling, South African president Cyril Ramaphosa welcomed the court's decision and urged for an end to the conflict through a two-state solution.
PM Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel would "continue to defend ourselves and our citizens while adhering to international law".
Under the court's decision, Israel must report to the court within a month on what it's doing to uphold the order.
A verdict on South Africa's allegation of genocide is not expected for years; Israel strongly denies the accusation, calling it "baseless"
