IEBC faces boundaries review headache; a full exercise was rolled out ahead of the 2027 polls

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced that it will review constituency and ward boundaries in phases, warning that constitutional, legal and operational hurdles make a full delimitation before the August 2027 General Election unlikely. IEBC Chairperson Erastus Ethekon cites legal and financial constraints, including a pending court ruling on the credibility of the 2019 Census as risks to the commission’s preparedness for the 2027 polls.
