The Kenya Forest Service has partnered with the Ministry of Trade and local communities to rehabilitate the degrading Irangi Forest in Embu County. According to the County Forest Conservator Miriam Kamau, 400 hectares has so far been rehabilitated since the launch of the National Tree Growing Restoration Campaign in December 2022. The forest measures over 15,000 hectares and is home to several wild animals and various bird species.
