Martha Karua has called for urgent government action to address the rising cases of gender-based violence, femicide, electoral violence and the disappearance of children.
Speaking at Mageuzi Hub in Nairobi during a joint press conference with the Kenya Human Rights Commission, Karua described the situation as a national governance crisis, blaming weak enforcement of existing laws. She called for greater accountability for perpetrators and stronger institutions to protect women and children ahead of the 2027 General Election.
