Kenya’s environmental conservation efforts received a major boost after the Kenya Defence Forces, Equity Bank, conservation groups, and local communities launched a large-scale mangrove restoration exercise in Kwale County.
The initiative aims to plant 150,000 mangrove seedlings in a single day as part of the government’s target to grow 15 billion trees by 2032. Leaders highlighted the importance of mangroves in protecting coastlines, supporting marine life, reducing climate change effects, and creating economic opportunities for local communities.
