Kenya is entering a new era of clean and affordable transport following President William Ruto’s announcement of tax exemptions for the first 100,000 imported electric vehicles (EVs). State agencies and county governments are already moving fast to implement the policy, with Kenya Power (KPLC) leading the way by planning to acquire electric trucks, pick-ups, saloon cars, tuk-tuks, and motorcycles for its fleet.
