Kenya has designated thirteen individuals as people involved in terrorism and terrorism financing. The individuals will be subjected to targeted financial sanctions that prohibit banks and other reporting institutions from maintaining accounts, processing transactions or conducting any financial dealings with them. The 13 individuals are made up of 10 Kenyans, two Tanzanians and one Ugandan national. The counter-financing of terrorism inter-ministerial committee said the individuals should be subjected to asset freezes and broad prohibition measures intended to cut off access to the formal financial system.
