The initiative, a partnership between the Kenya Wildlife Service and WildEarth KE Productions, has been broadcasting Kenya’s protected areas since September 7, with content reaching more than 500-thousand daily unique viewers across 16 global platforms, including DStv, YouTube, Samsung TV Plus and Roku.
The Tourism Ministry says KenyaLive will rotate across KWS parks, including the Aberdares, Nairobi National Park, Amboseli, Tsavo, Ruma, Meru, Mount Elgon and marine parks, helping promote both popular and lesser-known destinations.
The programme will also produce wildlife highlights, mini-documentaries and tourism promotional content, while virtual school safaris are expected to begin in November to connect students with Kenya’s protected areas.
The initiative was launched during Tourism Week and World Rhino Day, with the ministry saying digital exposure can complement physical safaris by building interest in Kenya’s wildlife and tourism destinations.
